DEALING WITH CONFLICT COURSES

Conflict in the workplace can take many forms - from bullying by a colleague,
through to threats of violence, through to physical assault.

Expectations of levels of service are much higher,
customers and clients expect quick response times.
Pressure on staff, in both public and private sector is greater than ever.

Pressure is also on management, with increased responsibilities in areas of
Health and Safety, not to mention the regular pressures of providing an efficient
service and maintaining high staff morale

DEALING WITH KNIFE THREAT
- spotting a concealed weapon
- evasion and escape
- preventing the draw
- knife against the body
- dealing with stabs and slashes
- improvised weapon defence
- emergency first aid
CONTROL AND RESTRAINT

- strong and weak points of body structure
- the principles of locks and holds
- disrupting balance and take downs
- safe restraint methods
- achieving compliance
